To Be Eligible …

The Kansas State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) offers eligible health care providers an opportunity to receive assistance with repayment of qualifying educational loans in exchange for a minimum two-year commitment to provide health care services at an eligible practice site in a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA). The SLRP is jointly funded by the State of Kansas and the National Health Service Corps. Providers must agree to work in the approved ambulatory out-patient setting for two years and will receive up to $25,000 (physicians or dentists)/$20,000 (all other providers) per year of service commitment. After successful completion of the initial service obligation, health care providers may apply to extend their Agreements in one-year increments up to three years to continue receiving loan repayment assistance. The SLRP awards are made annually through a competitive process. Applications are scored through a structured review process based upon Community Need, Practice Site Information, and Provider Personal Statement.
